Why study BTh Honours?
With our newly accredited Bachelor of Theology Honours degree, ATS aims to address practical issues specifically related to the role of a minister. The programme includes eight elective modules to choose from, allowing you to begin specialising in a unique ministry field. We believe that many students will wish to pursue postgraduate studies in one of these areas. The elective modules (from which a student chooses two) are:
• Church History
• Missiology
• Pastoral Counselling
• Community & Social Development
• Chaplaincy
• Youth Ministry
• Child and Family Wellness
• Pastoral Counselling of Children (prerequisite: the module on Child and Family Wellness)
Our calling often involves a “question” that preoccupies us and for which we seek answers. Postgraduate studies provide a systematic way to explore these questions. The BTh Honours degree will assist you in formulating your question and developing the first chapter of your Master’s dissertation.
P.S. Of course, postgraduate studies can also be pursued in the compulsory modules, including:
• New Testament
• Old Testament
• Dogmatics & Ethics
• Pastoral Ministries (Homiletics & Liturgy)
